In 2014 Omega Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated (OPBSI) celebrated its 25th Anniversary by launching an award series that honored community partners, outside of our Sorority, that we have admired, been inspired by, collaborated and partnered with. In appreciation, the National Leadership team resolved to launch the “Shared Values Awards” on every quinquennial milestone anniversary, showing solidarity with our community and as an excellent opportunity to show how important it is for our communities to come together and continue to uplift one another.

Every five years, we will accept nominations to honor the hard work, commitment, and common values of our peers: organizations and individuals. Selected by members of the (OPBSI)’s Board of Trustees (BOT) and National Council of Officers (NCOO) will be part of the awards committee to review the submissions. There are three categories for the Shared Values Awards corresponding to the values of OPBSI:

  • National Award for Empowerment: awarded to an organization that shares OPBSI’s values in advocating for women’s empowerment.
  • National Award for Leadership: awarded to a person who as a leader shares OPBSI’s values and shows great strength in leadership.
  • National Award for Community: awarded to a person who as a community advocate shares OPBSI’s values and shows dedication to the community at large.

OPBSI is pleased to announce we are accepting nominations to the national Shared Values Awards through May 15, 2019. Honorees will be notified by end of May and invited to accept their award at our National Convention & 30th Anniversary Gala taking place in New Orleans, LA from August 8-11, 2019. We encourage our fellow fraternal partners, College/University communities, philanthropic partners, and more to apply through our Shared Values Awards form.
