April 23, 2007…In light of the recent tragedy that occurred on Monday, April 16th, 2007 at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, Omega Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. and La Unidad Latina / Lambda Upsilon Lambda Fraternity, Inc. have launched a 10 day, nationwide effort to collect funds to support the Virginia Tech Hokie Spirit Memorial Fund. The 10 for 10 Campaign encourages everyone to donate $10 towards the cause for the next 10 days beginning today, Monday, April 23, 2007 and concluding on Wednesday, May 2, 2007. The events that took place have shocked the nation and will never be forgotten. As leaders in our community and an organization compromised of college students and graduates, we are committed to do everything we can to remember and honor over 30 victims of this tragedy. Our goal is to show our solidarity with the Virginia Tech college community and express our unconditional support. Donations can be made either on line or via mail starting at an asking amount of $10. All proceeds will be turned over to the Virginia Tech Hokie Spirit Memorial Fund to "aid in the healing process and generate financial support". While the 10 for 10 Campaign suggests a donation of $10 the fact is that any amount, no matter how small or large will make a difference.
