OPBSI on MTV Tr3’s & MTV TRL

February 27, 2007…Omega Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated (OPBSI)’s National Step Team (NST), the Soul Steppin’ Divas will be featured on MTV TR3 at 5:30 p.m. in “Un Corazon,” a new music video for SONY/BMG’s artist CHELO.

Soon after their win at the Annual StepCorrect National Competition, the Soul Steppin’ Divas were invited, along with Remo, Step Choreographer, to Puerto Rico where they debuted their award-winning signature steps in CHELO’s up-and-coming video. This performance is one of many successes the NST has experienced in the past 18 months, including the recent release of MTV’s True Life: I’m Stepping where the NST was part of the documentary detailing their preparation for the StepCorrect National Competition.

The “making of the video” will be aired in conjunction with the “Un Corazon” music video at 5:30 p.m. on MTV TR3, providing clips of the NST and CHELO working together on the step choreography as well as the NST’s travel from the airport, straight to the music video shoot. CHELO will also debut his music video on MTV TRL on Friday, March 2, 2007.

Soul Steppin’ Divas - NST of OPBSI was established in the summer of 1999, under the direction of Jessica 'Remo' Morales. The NST was soon recognized as the Soul Steppin’ Divas. Since then, the NST has become an integral part of the Latino Step community, continually placing importance on the art of stepping.

OPBSI is a Latina-oriented sorority founded on March 15, 1989, at the University at Albany, State University of New York. Seventeen women of various ethnic and cultural backgrounds came together to defy the injustices suffered by women, especially of color, in the academic, professional and political arenas. The purpose of OPBSI is to serve and educate people of diverse backgrounds through sisterhood, leadership, and guidance.
