Los Angeles, CA -July 25, 2006 - Omega Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. (OPBSI), congratulates Soror Eve Torres for her induction as an official member of the 2006-07 Los Angeles Clippers Dance Team.
Torres, a chartering member of OPBSI’s Phi Chapter at the University of California, completed her Bachelor’s degree in industrial and systems engineering, graduating in May 2006 with honors and a GPA above 3.5.
“Eve was always so busy. But despite dance practice, auditions and group meetings, she always managed to perform so well in school. She even captured the attention of several professors,” noted fellow chapter Soror Audrey Pumariega.
The Denver native relocated to Los Angeles to pursue her education, as well as her passion for the entertainment industry. During her years in Los Angeles, Torres juggled the responsibilities of school, extracurricular organizations and entertainment. She worked in commercials and music videos, served as captain of a popular dance team at USC and danced for The Southern California Summer Pro League, the sole summer league for NBA players. She is also an active member of Omega Phi Beta Sorority, Inc., among other organizations, having held several leadership positions within her chapter.
Sorors said that Torres’ charisma, perseverance and strong work ethic have paid off in helping her to achieve her goals. “I really admire her strength,” said Soror and close friend Amna Mazin.
Torres competed against hundreds of women to earn her position on the Clippers Dance Team.
