OPBSI Kicking off 2009 with Soul Steppin’ Divas - 7th Annual Bringin’ It Back Tour

NEW YORK, New York… December 26, 2008. Soul Steppin' Divas – National Step Team of Omega Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. (OPBSI) is proud to announce their 7th Annual Bringin' It Back Tour on Saturday, January 17 at 6:00pm. The event will take place at Crash Mansion, in New York City to celebrate their continuous belief in the Art of Steppin'. The Bringin' it Back Tour is established as a National Tour that highlights the Art of Steppin' throughout the company. For three artistic nights, OPBSI's National Step Team, perform a unique stepping routine. The subsequent tour is scheduled to hit 3- stops across the nation, leaving a nonstop frenzy of adoration for the appreciation of Latino Greek Stepping.

Soul Steppin' Divas will be launching their new routine for 2009 which will consist of the various sounds of stepping beats that was implemented by Jessica "Remo" Morales (Step Mistress for OPBSI and founder of Remo Production, Inc.). They will be testing the limits by the fusion of basic stepping and a twist of today's influences tightly woven with the Latin culture. "We have never claimed to own stepping. We hope to continue to be part of the growth and addition to its history," said "Remo". She also added, "We have had a long year, which we are proud of. On, Jan 17th we will not only celebrate seven years of this tour but ten years of our foundation.

The show will also consist of live performances from well-known poets, Devin Carthian and Martin Medina, along with Singer, Julia Venecia. Team performances will include: Hermandad de Sigma Iota Alpha, Inc. – National Stroll Team (SIA), Lambda Sigma Upsilon Fraternity, Inc. (LSU), Chi Iota Pi Sorority, Inc. – National Stroll Team (CIP), Unity Stroll Team by Omega Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. (WFB) and Hermandad de Sigma Iota Alpha, Inc. (SIA), and lastly the largest Unity Step Team to date consisting of Omega Phi Chi Sorority, Inc.(WFC), Omega Phi Beta Sorority, Inc.(WFB), Beta Kappa Psi Fraternity, Inc.(BKY), Lambda Upsilon Lambda Fraternity, Inc.(LUL), Lambda Sigma Upsilon Fraternity, Inc.(LSU) and more.

Soul Steppin' Divas - NST of OPBSI was established in the summer of 1999, under the direction of Jessica 'Remo' Morales. The NST was soon recognized as the Soul Steppin' Divas. Since then, the NST has become an integral part of the Latino Step community, continually placing importance on the art of stepping. Since inception they have been 2003, 2004 and 2005 Latinosstep National Champions, 2006 StepCorrect Qualifier 1st place Champions, 2007 StepCorrect National Champions. Featured on MTV True Life, MTV Tr3's, MTV TRL, and People En Espanol. They also choreographed and featured credits for "Un Corazon" video for SONY BMG Artist Chelo.

Omega Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated, a NALFO organization member, is a Latina-oriented sorority founded on March 15, 1989, at the University at Albany, State University of New York. Seventeen women of various ethnic and cultural backgrounds came together to defy the injustices suffered by women, particularly women of color, in the academic, professional and political arenas.
