 2007 P.E.T.A.L.S Sisterhood Scholarship RecipientCongratulations to Jasmine Hernandez of Phi Chapter Fall 2005 #2 Sisaya, for being the 2007 recipient of the P.E.T.A.L.S. Sisterhood Scholarship. Jasmine truly represents what it is to be a sister of Omega Phi Beta Sorority, Inc and as such she has been awarded a $250 scholarship to be utilized towards books or tuition, in order to support her academic endeavors. Jasmine made a difficult transition from the East Coast to the West Coast in order to pursue her academics. Her transition was fraught with cultural relation problems, scholastic set-backs, and normal attempts to just “fit in”. Despite these challenges, Jasmine rose-up to become an excellent student in the Political Science department with a minor in Bio-ethics, as well as take on many internship opportunities in her field, and volunteering in the community. Her commitment to OPBSI has been unparalleled since the day she crossed. She is appreciative of all she has been giving by OPBSI and returns the favor by continually giving back. We hope that this scholarship will continue to reward Jasmine, and other sisters in the future, to continue to promote sisterhood, work hard and achieve scholastically.
