P.E.T.A.L.S Scholarship
The P.E.T.A.L.S. (Perseverance, Encouragement, Triumph, Accomplishments, Love, and Service) Sisterhood Scholarship was created in 2006 in order to support the educational endeavors of our most dedicated sisters. The purpose of this scholarship is to reward sisters who exemplify not only the ideals and standards of OPBSI, but also who exemplify sisterhood. The recipient of this scholarship must be a well-rounded sister who strives to achieve academic success, is considered an integral part of her chapter/colony, and is dedicated to the community.
The P.E.T.A.L.S. Sisterhood scholarship is awarded to one sister per year for their achievements within their chapter/colony, campus and community. The scholarship disbursement is as follows:
The sister will be notified by the Director of Academic and Professional Development (DAPD) about her award.
The sister will then send acceptance notification to the DAPD and also let the DAPD know how she will be using the award money (tuition or books).
If used for tuition, the Director of Finance will have a check made out to the bursar’s office of the sister’s college/university. If for books, then the sister will have to provide a receipt for the purchased books and will receive a reimbursement check. This award will provide for no more than $250 worth of books or tuition.
Applications will be reviewed based on content, clarity, and creativity. Only applications submitted no later than February 5th and received with all supporting documentation in a complete application packet will be considered.
