Chapter History
The founders of Mu were students who were very focused on their academics and campus community leadership. They felt that Omega Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. would provide a great outlet and a channel for their talents; and that these talents could be directed towards serving their local latino community. They agreed that Omega Phi Beta was a well structured organization with a good core set of values, goals and direction.

Hoping to establish a chapter at two universities in Buffalo, NY simultaneously, the chartering members soon realized that the expansion process would require patience, confidence but most importantly, a determination to succeed from all involved.

With that determination and the goals they set, Mu chapter was established on May 1, 1999. The Mu Chapter is proud to have shared their expansion process with their sorors at the University of Rochester and Rochester Institute of Technology.

Chapter Cause: Educating Our Youth
Educating Our Youth…our future begins with children. Like many other cities within the United States, funds for education are allocated depending on geographic location. The sorors at Mu Chapter believe all children should have the same amount of resources to perform at their highest ability in the area of education. We provide our resources and time towards helping to educate our youth for a better future for themselves and for society as whole.
