Reach for the Gold Book ScholarshipSince 1995, the Alumnae Association of Omega Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated (OPBSI) has been supporting bright and benevolent women through the Reach for the Gold (RFTG) Book Scholarship as they pursue careers in medicine, the sciences, technology, education, non-profit management, arts, and more. The Reach for the Gold Book Scholarship recognizes academic and benevolent achievement among young women of color, and supports their continued success through the first year of college.

The Reach for the Gold (RFTG) Book Scholarship awards one $1,000 scholarship annually to a deserving young woman to aid in the purchase of text books. It recognizes academic and benevolent achievement among young women of color, and supports their continued success through the first year of college.

The Alumnae Association is very pleased to announce that after three years, the 2016 Reach for the Gold Scholarship program has received an update and is now back in action with applications available for immediate download online.

“We are thrilled to re-launch one of our most important initiatives and continue to uphold our mission to support our gender in the pursuit of higher education.  We understand the financial struggle brilliant young women face when transitioning to college and we do not want that to be an obstacle for reaching their potential.  The Alumnae Association’s team is eager to see what this year’s candidate pool will bring and look forward to supporting another phenomenal young woman this year with our book scholarship,” Elisa Molina, Vice President of Alumnae Affairs commented.

The RFTG Book Scholarship application is now available on OPBSI’s National Website at www.OmegaPhiBeta.org. Completed application packets are due by July 1, 2016 and the winner will be announced by August 14, 2016 at our National Convention.
